We have an opportunity for a Trainee Patent Attorney to join our busy Mechanical team based in London. We are looking for candidates with a high-level degree qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. Technical areas encompass all aspects of mechanical engineering including automotive and aerospace technology, medical technology, packaging and machinery. Comprehensive training is given both on the job and through preparation for professional exams to qualify as a patent attorney.

The role will involve direct contact with clients, patent drafting and prosecution. There will also be opportunities to handle contentious matters. The ideal candidate will need to have excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills as well as an interest in law, particularly in relation to the protection of intellectual property, and a desire to learn with the aim of sitting both European and UK qualifying professional examinations.
